Brief Description of Work/ Research:
Right since its inception, the organisation has engaged itself in multifarious social welfare activities such as human rights, women’s empowerment, child welfare, and environment and biodiversity protection. It has also been involved with studies, surveys, and campaigns for the prevention of water pollution in Taldanda Canal in 1993, conservation of mangrove forests on the Orissa coast in 1992-94, conservation of the Indian horseshoe crabs on the Orissa coast in 1992-94, protection of olive ridley sea turtles on the Orissa coast: ongoing since 1996. It is presently engaged in popularising the Trawl Guard as a bycatch reduction device among the trawling community, among other things.
